Though you are not in whatever afterlife you know of - Heaven, Nirvana, Hell, Purgatory - but in a place known only as Nepenthe. Welcome to Elysian Caim! We are an 18+ MFRP focused on providing a friendly, welcoming, fun place for busy adults to write their favorite characters. Though we will have a section for NSFW content, please be aware that is not the focus of the group. Due to the story of the group, your muses will be subjected to IC manipulation and there will be mentions of IC deaths as well some characters may experience derealization. There will also be religious and mythos theme sprinkled around. Please keep these themes in mind when joining.Elysian Caim tells the story of your characters post their “deaths” as their souls have been whisked away by “angels”. Your characters may still be alive in canon, but our Seraphim would have to disagree! They have hand-picked your characters to live in their perfect world known as Nepenthe and wish to shower them in “blessings”. Though you might not see each blessing as good, everything from them is a blessing - perhaps you simply haven’t realized it yet.

RULES.

GENERAL.
✧ All members must be 18+ to join. Because of this group's premise, darker or more mature themes may be present. The 18+ rule is strict and anyone found lying about their age will be banned permanently without a chance to appeal.
✦ Because of this rule, you will be required to link a social media outside of Discord for us to be able to verify your age. The accounts cannot be brand new. If you feel uncomfortable sharing it in public, you may DM a mod just note that on your introduction.✧ Racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, use of slurs, or any sort of hate speech is unacceptable and won’t be tolerated in this server. We expect everyone to be respectful of each other and maturely handle themselves. We wish to create a place for people to talk and express themselves through writing and will not tolerate any disrespect towards your fellow members.
✧ No mentions of commonly triggering topics in any of our voice channels or text channels. ( Including mentions of suicide, self-harm, abuse, graphic violence, RL death, eating disorders, etc. ) If such topics do happen to come up in RP, please properly tag and spoiler them for others to avoid if needed.
✧ Please note that we do not allow “proship” rhetoric in this server. We are aware of how blurred the term has become so to be more clear we will outline what it means. Problematic ships such as incest, romanticization of sexual assault, extreme age gaps, adult/minor romantic relationships, etc. are not allowed in this group whatsoever. Should they be a part of your character's background, it will be allowed in your application but cannot be an active or ongoing thing within the group.

OUT OF CHARACTER.
✧ When you first join the server you are given 5 character slots. The moment you fill up your 5, you will gain an extra slot every week from then. This may stack to a max of 15. You may add more slots via our writers points. More information can be found in our Obol Shop channel for how writers points work.
✦ We do have a restriction of 3 per series, but please be mindful of series with smaller casts. You may have more slots in that series with admin permission, but it will only be granted by our judgment based on cast size.
✦ You also may not have characters with close relations to each other - we are aware this is vague, but if someone is integral to your character or that character’s story there is a good chance we will not allow it.
✧ Reservations are for one week with one extension allowed. After the extension expires, you must wait another week before reserving again.
✧ In order to get to all reserves in a timely manner and avoid hoarding, there is a limit of 3 active reserves per person at a time. There is also a limit of 3 submissions per day.
✧ Submissions may be approved whenever mods are free to approve but for the sake of having a set time our members can look for they will always be done for sure on Wednesday and Friday nights.
✧ There is no copy/pasting from the wiki allowed in your application. Paraphrasing is fine.
✧ You may not age up characters. If the character does not have a canon age, you may choose one within the assumed age range for that character. But if the character is assumedly a minor, you may not age them as 18 for the sake of NSFW.
✧ This is a canon-only server. No AU versions of characters will be allowed. The exception to this would be canon AUs that are easily distinguishable from canon characters. An example would be La Danse Macabre from IDOLiSH7 or the Star Guardians from League of Legends. These characters have completely different names or look different along with having completely separate stories. If one could reasonably consume the media with 0 understanding of the original, it is considered distinguishable enough. Something like the Fate series where alternate versions of the characters exist in the canon mainline - They are accepted if they are actually different characters and not just outfit swaps. I.E. Artoria Alter and Artoria vs. Medb and Summer Medb. There may only be one version of each character in this case. ( Using Fate as an example again you may not have a Gilgamesh(Archer) from Fate/Stay Night and also a Gilgamesh(Archer) from Fate Grand Order. ) In general, if you have questions or are questioning where a character lands in this, feel free to ask us! ( Please note: This rule is about AUs. Original characters are still allowed. )
✧ Only fictional characters are allowed. We are also keeping it to animated/drawn/written fictional media for now. ( Cartoons, anime, manga, comics, video games, books, etc. )
✧ For series with multiple main characters or ‘non-canon’ protagonists, it is case by case.
✦ For example in Genshin Impact, Aether and Lumine are completely different characters and thus are both allowed. But in Honkai Star Rail or Fire Emblem, the two protag options are essentially the same character barring gender, so doubles would not be permitted.
✦ In series with faceless or created protagonists, such as Yuu from Twisted Wonderland or the Warrior of Light from FFXIV, multiples of these characters are allowed. However, canon characters will only remember a default version of these protags to avoid any favoritism within the server. An exception is made for canon characters that have a lore reason to remember multiple iterations. (IE. Ascians/Ancients from FFXIV)
✧ We don’t have many hard bans on series, but also character that have committed acts such as SA, pedophilia, are a part of the equivalent of a irl hategroup, are generally not allowed.

*If you have a question or want to ask about a certain muse, feel free to ask us! We understand that media isn’t black and white. Stories and characters can be liked, written, and consumed while still viewing them through a critical lens.
✧ We use Tupperbox for roleplaying. Please do not use a separate Discord account.
✧ Private RPs are done within forums. Please keep all roleplays about the group within the server for the sake of moderation.

IN CHARACTER.
✧ We have a variety of timezones in our server and have decided to leave times up to the people currently writing.
✦ I.E. Should someone say good morning in the IC chatroom, the others should follow it being morning.✧ Do not god-mod.
✦ We do not limit your character's abilities but do not abuse this fact. Please be respectful of your writing partner.✧ Do not intrude on roleplays.
✦ Please use common sense. If it's somewhere your character wouldn't be able to access normally, do not assume that you can join in. Please ask the writers if you would like to join in.✧ Always keep in contact with your current writing partner!
✦ No matter how your thread and/or character’s relationship is progressing, make sure to talk to your writing partner. If we find anyone was pressured into writing anything they are uncomfortable with there will be repercussions.

ACTIVITY CHECK.
We are all adults, so we completely understand how busy being an adult can be. This server is meant to be a place for busy adults to enjoy a hobby in a relaxed and easy-going environment. That being said, we must have a way to keep people from hoarding characters and never interacting in the server.✧ Every month we will have an “Activity Check”. This will let us know who is looking at the server and is interested in continuing to write with us. This also gives people a chance to clear out any characters they no longer wish to have.
✧ How they will work is that we will require you to list your muses and any you are dropping. You also must link either a full reply or two replies to the world chat. A “full reply” would be a fully literate one. We will also accept longer ‘script’ replies as long as they are a full paragraph.
✧ If you feel like someone is hoarding a character, please contact an admin.
